Congratulations to the following students who have been named student of the month for May: Students of the month: Fire & Rescue AM - Isaac Bunch, Senior at Southwestern High School Isaac was chosen by his peers as the outstanding student of the month. Isaac is a Senior at Southwestern High School. Isaac works hard participating in skills evolutions and shows leadership behavior among his class. Isaac shows genuine interest in the fire service and is always willing to learn. Fire & Rescue PM - Andrew Lacy, Senior at Waldron High School Andy was chosen by his peers as the outstanding student of the month. Andy has shown dedication by completing the course and focus on his future endeavors. Andy keeps a positive attitude and support of his classmates, helping push everyone to the finish line. CNA AM - Breanna Barton, Junior at Waldron High School Bre has worked hard this year in the classroom and at the clinical sites. She is always engaged, asking questions, and looking for ways to better herself. She recently took and passed both the written exam and skills exam for the CNA certification. The examiner was overly impressed with Bre’s ability to perform her CNA skills. Keep up the great work! CNA PM: Dylan Green, Senior at Shelbyville High School Dylan is a dedicated student. He shows up each day ready to learn. He completes assignments on time and maintains his grades. Dylan recently took and passed both the written exam and skills exam for the CNA certification. Although this may have pushed him outside of his comfort zone, he took the challenge, showed up to test, and surpassed everyone’s expectations. Great job! Construction AM: Scotty Jenkins, Sophomore at Shelbyville High School Scotty is a good student that pays attention and asks questions for clarity before tackling the task given. Scotty gives his best and also helps other students. If I was looking for an employee for my business, Scotty would be my first choice. Scotty gives 110% everyday, every moment and he's looking for things to do. Construction PM: Aleah Jones, Junior at Shelbyville High School Aleah is a 2nd year student that participated a lot in her 1st year by building a house. She has gained a lot of experience and developed a great skill set. She outperforms a lot of her peers. Aleah enjoys the class and never turns down a request by the Instructor to complete work. She is a pleasure to have in Class. Leah will do well in her endeavors and is a team player.

Good afternoon, The Blue River Career Programs Honors Night is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th, starting at 6:00 PM at Shelbyville High School's Breck Auditorium. We will begin with a general recognition program honoring outstanding students, National Technical Honor Society students, Ivy Tech Advantage students, and several scholarships being handed out to students. Congratulations to the following students who were chosen as students of the month for April: Students of the Month:

Education Professions AM - Miley Jones, Junior at Southwestern High School Miley is a very dedicated, conscientious student as well as a loving, compassionate cadet teacher. Miley is always willing to help with any project. I appreciate Miley very much and feel confident that she will be an amazing teacher. I will be excited to watch her progress in her career over the next few years.

Work Based Learning (WBL) PM - Madison Barnes, Senior at Shelbyville High School Madison has an amazing compassion for her patients at her internship at The Willows Of Shelbyville. Madison averages 30 hours per week at her Work Base Learning Internship as a CNA while keeping up her academic classes. To show her commitment to starting her health care journey, Madison invested $1,000.00 of her own money to become a certified CNA. She is willing to go the extra mile to make sure she takes care of her residents as if they were part of her own family. Madison has a smile on her face and a positive attitude that are contagious to her fellow employees and classmates. Madison most recently was recognized for making the HOSA state finals in job interview and top five in the State Of Indiana for HOME HEALTH AIDE COMPETITION. Madison may have the opportunity to compete in Nashville, Tennessee for the 2025 HOSA International competition from June 18-21. Madison will certainly continue to make an impact as she continues to study at the College Of St. Mary's to obtain a degree in nursing.

Criminal Justice AM: Kameron Holland, Sophomore at Shelbyville High School Kameron is always willing to participate in class. He leads discussions and welcomes debates. Kameron is open to new lab activities and brings high energy into the class setting.

Criminal Justice PM: Cassie Pike, Junior, Shelbyville High School Cassie comes to class ready to be engaged. Even on days we are just doing lecture, she makes the most of it. Cassie shows compassion, leadership, and empathy. All of these traits will help her do well in the Criminal Justice field.

Diesel Technology AM: Jack Adkins, Junior at Waldron High School Jack works hard in the classroom and in the lab and he is eager to learn about the basics of the diesel trade. Jack is a fast learner and works well with the other students. Jack is willing to jump in and get his hands dirty while learning the basics of brakes, transmissions, steering and other areas of study in the field.

Diesel Technology PM: Chase Sells, Senior at Shelbyville High School Chase is willing to tackle any job in the lab and takes directions well. Chase retains the classroom information and uses the knowledge he learns in the lab. In his second year he has come a long way to pick up on the classwork we covered from last year to incorporate it with the new lessons from this year. Chase will do well in the trades after high school as he embarks on his future in trade school in Ohio this fall.

Hello everyone, Tomorrow at BRCP, our culinary arts department will be having their food Friday for students. They are selling fried chicken tenders w/fries for $4.00, Chicken Quesadilla with Jalapeno's and Salsa for $4.00 and Banana Splits for $3.00. Students will be able to purchase these items during their break time. All proceeds will go to SCUFFY. Also, Snowie of Indy will be here from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM outside the student entrance for any student, parent, or community member wanting to purchase a Snowie or other cool treats.
