Today's CTE spotlight is our Human and Social Services program taught by Miss Adalynn Edwards.
The human and social services class allows students to explore careers in multiple different practice areas. With a human services or social work degree, students can work in medical settings, counseling, schools, education, corrections, child welfare, and many more. In our Human and Social Services Capstone (second year) class, we have been talking about the socialization process and how it affects child development, and the five agents of socialization. Just recently, our class completed a project on the socialization process, and how this looks different in other cultures!
Our Human and Social Services student spotlight is 2nd year student Alyssa Banfill for student spotlight of the month! Alyssa comes to class everyday with a positive attitude, actively participates in class discussion and activities, and always works hard on her assignments and projects. She exemplifies all of the qualities of a great student! Keep up the good work Alyssa!

Several students stated why they chose CTE. We have a lot of great students wanting to do a lot of great work! #CTEshowcase #WhyCTE

February is CTE month and Blue River Career Programs will be spotlighting our programs and a student each day this month.
Today's CTE spotlight is our Auto Collision Repair program taught by Mr. Ty Branson
Our Auto Collision Repair Program allows students to learn introductory automotive body skills like panel repair, welding, and priming and painting in their first year of the program. The second year students will go more in depth with structural repairs while continuing to review and master newly learned skills for entry level employment in the industry.
Our Auto Collision Repair student spotlight is Mr. Briesyn Canter.
Briesyn is a sophomore at Shelbyville High School who attends Mr. Branson's Auto Collision Repair class in the afternoon. Briesyn is a very knowledgeable and hard-working student who has excelled in the classroom and the lab this year. He currently has All A's and is a tremendous addition to the classroom.
